Access violation

Postby CharlieS on Sat Apr 03, 2010 4:14 pm

I just installed the trial version on XP, 4GB machine with 2.8 Dual core. Installation seemed to go ok and initially worked. However, on reboot,

1) I get an error when I try to access program permissions, site permissions. All options will respond with an error of "access violation at address 00468DE3 in mod internetaccesscontroller.exe read of address 0000000057"

2)When I did get access during installation, it would not accept any program names for allowed programs. I could explore to the name, but when I selected any program, it returned an error of "image size invalid"

This is a relatively recent XP installation that is not experiencing any other issues.

Thanks
Charlie

Thanks for your post, this is the first we have heard of this issue. It is almost like another program is interferring with internet access controller. Can you tell me what is your antivirus and other security software you have running?

I am running McAfee Security Center, latest version. I just removed and reinstalled with the security center disabled. No change, I still get "invalid image size" when I first startup, but it does start, and the same error when I try to make changes "access violation .... ". The software is working. I just can't make any changes to the settings I made when I ran it the first time. It did run correctly the first time and the first time only.

Thanks
